Chameleon Like (PPAI 209189, S6), a supplier in Gilroy, California, has earned a B Corporation Certification.

Founded in 1998, Chameleon like offers a contemporary range of stationery products, such as journals, notebooks, binders, folders and other desk accessories. Last week, it was named by PPAI Media as one of the Greatest Companies to Work For in promotional products for the second straight year.

What’s A B Corp?

B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a nonprofit organization that recognizes companies committed to social and environmental responsibility. Certification means a business has met the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

  • To achieve B Corp certification, businesses go through a rigorous review process that evaluates the company’s impact on its employees, suppliers, community and the environment.
  • A growing number of businesses are earning B Corp certification. More than 6,000 businesses have earned the certification, with B Labs saying 2022 was the fastest growth year in its history.

Chameleon Like’s Certification

Chameleon Like underwent a thorough assessment of its operations, including an evaluation of its impact on the environment, its social responsibility practices and its corporate governance.

“Our volunteer work at Second Harvest Food Bank, Sea Huggers and Target Hunger to name a few, fuels our employees and empowers our communities.” says Cesar Gonzalez, Chameleon Like’s director of employee engagement and sustainability.

Pierre Martichoux, founder and CEO, says, “We are makers at heart. As a company, we have always strived to make sustainable products and create a positive impact in the industry, so this certification is an important milestone for us. It validates our efforts to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner and provides us with a framework to continue improving and evolving.”

B Corps In Promo

Numerous businesses operating in the promotional merchandise space have earned their B Corp certification, from Pyramid Award-winning supplier Raining Rose to 2023 H. Ted Olson Humanitarian Award recipient Danny Rosin’s company, distributor Brand Fuel, and many others.

B Corp certification is part of the industry’s corporate social responsibility discussion, a factor in promo’s divestiture from China sourcing and an intrinsic part of its move away from “cheap swag.”
