Growing your email list is an invaluable way to open the door to more opportunities. When you build a robust list –and keep growing it – you can engage your leads, communicate with past and current clients and build relationships in personalized ways.

Starla Gatson, a writer who contributes to the Constant Contact blog, understands that growing an email list is important but also can be quite challenging. In this issue of PromoPro Daily, we share some of her best tips for swiftly growing your email list.

Craft engaging content. This can help generate organic growth, Gatson says. When you send your email subscribers interesting and well-written content, you can keep your existing subscribers and attract new ones.

Make it easy to subscribe and share. Gatson recommends adding social media sharing buttons in each of your messages along with a link to “email to a friend.” When recipients share your email, you expand your reach.

Segment your email lists. You can segment your lists in all kinds of ways to make your messages more relevant. For example, you could target your message to those who buy promo apparel or promo pens. Or, you could segment your lists by industry or location. Strategically segmented contact lists help you determine which groups need which information, Gatson says.

Use social media. Try linking your lead generation landing page in your profile bio or including a sign-up call to action at the end of your video content. Gatson says you could also preview newsletters on your stories or in captions that require viewers to sign up to get the full post.

Add an email sign-up link in your signature. If you and your co-workers include a signature in your emails, make the most of those messages by including a CTA to join your email list. This spurs the sender-recipient relationship even after the conversation is over, Gatson says.

Offer a valuable resource or bonus content. This can be a great way to incentivize email sign-ups. Gatson says you might create a digital guide related to your promo offerings. Then, make it exclusive for email list subscribers.

Host a webinar. When you show your promo expertise, it lets people know you’re a credible expert. As a result, they’ll be much more likely to sign up for your emails.

Collect emails at trade shows. The PPAI Expo 2024 is just a few short weeks away. Use the opportunity in Las Vegas to gather email addresses from new connections. Any face-to-face interaction is an opportunity to add to your list of email contacts, Gatson says.

A healthy email list means a healthy source of leads for your promo business. Scale up your email marketing efforts by implementing the strategies above.
