Getting feedback shouldn’t happen just at the end of a client project, though. Nika Prpic, a content writer and marketing specialist, says you should gather valuable feedback every step of the way. In this issue of PromoPro Daily, we share her tips for getting insight from your clients.

1. Refresh your clients on project details. You know all the details, from logo placement to product colors, but your clients could benefit from a reminder. A quick refresher can help avoid any confusion and make it easier for them to provide feedback, Prpic says. When emailing clients, you might include a link to project details so clients can find everything in one place. Or you might introduce a promo project by recording and attaching a short video.

2. Show your passion for promo. What makes you excited or proud about a particular project? Let your enthusiasm show when communicating with your clients. Prpic says this can help you spark great conversation and encourage positive feedback.

3. Highlight where you especially want an opinion. Every project carries some difficult parts that take more time and client input to polish, Prpic says. By asking your clients for feedback on those specific areas of your work, you’ll make sure your visions for the project are in line. For instance, you might ask if there are any regulatory or compliance constraints to note.

4. Make it easy to provide feedback. Think about it from your clients’ perspective. It can be time-consuming to provide meaningful feedback. That’s why it’s important to give your customers a transparent way to share their feedback, Prpic says. If possible, invite your clients to provide feedback in a shared document so everyone can see it and leave additional comments.

5. Give a due date. If your client review process is well set up, Prpic says there will be multiple review rounds before reaching client approval. And for the project to meet the deadline, you need to get feedback in time to make changes and share new versions of your work.

Listening to what your clients have to say can make you a better promo professional. Not only can you use client feedback to improve your processes and offerings, but doing so can help build loyalty. Consider the tips above to get insight into how your customers feel about your business. When you ask, your clients will probably be happy to answer.
