People are hooked on hiking. The activity is among the most popular outdoor activities in the United States, with only fishing, biking and running more popular. According to AllTrails, the largest hiking and trail-specific hiking app, people logged 171% more hikes in 2020 compared to 2019. The pandemic-fueled surge in hiking continues today, with an estimated 51 million hikers hitting the trails this year.

On National Hiking Day on November 17, places like outdoor equipment stores, nature centers and state and national parks can use promotional products to celebrate the activity and promote awareness of local trails. We’ve rounded up a few ideas for National Hiking Day in this issue of Promotional Consultant Today.
