When clients and prospects land on your site, are they taking the action you’d like them to take? This could mean signing up for an e-mail list, downloading a fact sheet, booking a call or any number of other actions. When you have a high website conversion rate, this means most people are doing what you want them to do when they click over to your site.

How can you boost this number? We’re sharing tips from REVE Chat’s Snigdha Patel in this issue of PromoPro Daily.

Try live chat. Patel points out that 59% of customers are more likely to buy when brands answer their queries in under a minute. Implementing live chat allows you to help your website visitors in real time, which is what they expect. This can lead to a boost in website conversions and customer satisfaction.

Offer the right value proposition. This is key in boosting website conversions, so make sure you cross-check it across different pages on your site. Patel says a great value proposition will create a good first impression by letting potential customers know you have exactly what they need.

Strengthen your call to action. Consider the placement and language of your CTA. Patel recommends not using multiple CTAs, as this will create confusion and end up diluting the main goal of conversion. The best place for your CTA? Your landing page. This can boost conversion rates by 80%.

Make your website look good. If it’s been a while since you’ve refreshed your site, consider giving it an update. Pay attention to the website design, font size, color scheme, layout and site navigation, Patel says. If your website is unattractive, some customers may leave the site altogether.

Perform A/B testing. According to Patel, this is one of the most popular ways to boost website conversions, with more than half of marketers (56%) using this method. Also known as split testing, it involves setting up 2 versions of a page and seeing which one performs better.

Improving your website conversions should be an important part of your business strategy. It’s great when people land on your site, but they should also be taking the appropriate action. Follow the tips above to begin to drive more leads from your website.
