Sweda Company, LLC (PPAI 113914) donated $100,000 to the Warrior Spirit Retreat this month at The PPAI® Expo. The retreat is a place where warriors learn to heal the physical and mental wounds of military service. Since 2017, a portion of the proceeds of all sales of the City of Industry, California-based supplier’s Basecamp items have been donated to fund the retreat. To date, it has donated more than $250,000 to the cause.

On January 15 at Sweda’s booth at the Expo, Sweda CEO Jim Hagan, CAS, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Kellie Claudio and Vice President of Finance Ginalin Tan presented Warrior Spirit Retreat founder Dan Nevins with the $100,000 check while surrounded by distributors, friends and Sweda team members.

An Iraq war veteran and double amputee, Nevins conducts retreats nationwide for veterans and their families. He has helped thousands live a better life coping with the wounds of war. A nationally recognized yoga master and motivational speaker, Nevins shares his practice with warriors, giving them a safe space to heal mentally and spiritually. He is the official brand ambassador for Basecamp, a Sweda adventure brand of products including backpacks, bear-tested coolers, drinkware, multi-tools, weatherproof bluetooth speakers, hammocks and tents.
