Supplier Storm Creek (PPAI 438091, S6), headquartered southeast of St. Paul, Minnesota, has become a new member of the Minnesota Keystone Program, which promotes corporate philanthropy by recognizing companies that donate at least two percent of their pre-tax earnings to charitable organizations.

“We are extremely excited to join the outstanding list of over 100 community-minded companies in this program,” says Storm Creek CEO Teresa Fudenberg. “Keystone recognizes two levels of giving—two percent and five percent. We are proud to announce that Storm Creek is over the five-percent giving level.”

Storm Creek’s corporate charity program, Embrace the Cause, makes donations to a variety of nonprofit organizations across Minnesota. The pillars of this program include Shop for a Cause, a shop-give program held during the company’s annual warehouse sale, where customers can donate to their charity of choice, donating a portion of sales from eco-friendly products to 1% for the Planet and generously supplying many local and national organizations through in-kind apparel donations.

Storm Creek’s team is dedicated to upholding and supporting these initiatives. In addition to the corporate charity program, every employee is encouraged to volunteer through paid time-off for the community charity organization they are most passionate about.

In 2018, Storm Creek donated more than $40,000 dollars and 3,000 volunteer hours to more than 30 charitable organizations locally and nationally, including Special Olympics, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Save the Boundary Waters and others.

“The commitment of Minnesota Keystone participants continues to serve as an example to other businesses, both here and around the globe, and to sustain Minnesota’s spirit of generosity and sense of community,” says Cheri Gengler, foundation director. “Qualifying companies have an operating presence in Minnesota and donate cash or in-kind donations, including pro-bono services and/or employee paid volunteer time.”
