Roy Spence, partner at GSD&M Advertising and CEO of the Purpose Institute, is bringing his insights and unique background to The PPAI Expo Tuesday as the show’s opening general session speaker. Spence first made his mark with PPAI members last summer as the opening speaker at the PPAI North American Leadership Conference, and will share that same compelling, inspiring education experience with Expo attendees.

From a modest launch in 1971, Spence and his partners have built Austin, Texas-based GSD&M into a powerhouse marketing, advertising and idea machine. The company is responsible for iconic campaigns for Southwest Airlines, Walmart and the State of Texas, among others, and counts BMW, The PGA TOUR, John Deere and the United States Air Force among its high-profile clients. Spence is renowned for his expertise and his passion for entrepreneurship, which he refers to as “The miracle of America.” In 2016, he was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Fame and named the “Adman of the Century” by Texas Monthly magazine.

Spence is bringing his trademark passion, humor and storytelling skill to Expo, in a presentation filled with his personal experiences working with legendary, purpose-inspired leaders. His session will also include actionable ideas that the audience can use in making informed decisions that support their core purpose.
