Hear what it’s like to serve on PPAI’s Board of Directors and learn more about this year’s board candidates in the latest episode of PromoTalks: PPB Presents: Meet The PPAI Board Candidates. Moderated by Paul Bellantone, CAE, president and CEO of PPAI, this 46-minute podcast episode offers a look into the extensive process behind selecting candidates, and features insights from special guests Ira Neaman, MAS, president of Vantage Apparel and PPAI board chair, and 2020 board candidates Alan Tabasky, vice president and general manager of BEL Promo, and Noah Lapine, vice president and owner of Lapine Associates, Inc. The podcast was developed to help PPAI members get to know these board candidates and to encourage support for the slate. Member voting is currently ongoing through September 22.

Being selected to serve on the Board of Directors entails looking at many different aspects of a candidate’s skills and experience. Neaman discusses the vetting process, which involves conducting a gap analysis to identify the particular skillset of everyone who sits on the board, and from that evaluation, determining the areas that need to be improved, thus ensuring the board is equipped to offer industry professionals, Association members and PPAI staff an expansive range of guidance and support. The candidates discuss other details, including the time commitment and preparing for the changes that a board commitment would bring to their day-to-day lives.

Topics include:
• Thoughts on what’s to come in a post-coronavirus world, and how Tabasky and Lapine are working to prepare their businesses for the future
• Adjusting to a new landscape where businesses may look entirely differently than they did just a few months ago, and working to adjust to and meet new needs
• How the board candidates’ business models can contribute unique insight to the board and PPAI
