PPAI has welcomed promotional products veteran Lindsey Davis, MAS, to its staff as manager of the Association’s Promotional Products Work (PPW) program.

As PPW manager, Davis’ focus will be on growing and supporting PPAI’s initiative to educate advertisers and end-buyers on promotional products’ effectiveness as marketing tools, and equip distributors to take this message and the Association’s research to their clients.

Davis will also support PPAI’s Promotional Products Work Expo, events geared toward distributors and their hosted clients—registration for the first full-market PPW Expo, to be held September 29, opens soon. A beta event was held this spring.

“I may be a little biased, as I grew up in the industry, but I believe Promotional Products Work is a great opportunity to accomplish our goals,” Davis says. “We’re talking about promotional products being universally valued and essential to every brand and advancing the marketplace.”

Davis’ parents founded Solar Advertising, an early lip balm supplier in the promo marketplace, in 2002. She started in marketing at the firm and eventually rose to share ownership with her mother, serving as its president. In 2016, she led the company through its successful purchase by Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Raining Rose. She most recently served as Raining Rose’s director of sales.

A long-time volunteer in the industry, Davis previously served on the Promotional Products Education Foundation’s board of trustees, as president of the Regional Association Council (RAC) and president of the Rocky Mountain Region Promotional Products Association. She has also been volunteered with several regional association and PPAI committees.

At Raining Rose, Davis oversaw the sales team and worked to develop the company’s strategic vision, among other responsibilities. She carries those experiences and more to her new role at PPAI.

“The vision behind the Promotional Product Work program drew me to this position at PPAI ,” says Davis. “I am really excited about where PPAI is headed and the commitment that it is making to the industry. To be part of that? It’s a dream come true for me.”

Davis has a Bachelor of Science in international business from Johnson & Wales University in Denver and will continue to reside in Cedar Rapids while with PPAI. Outside of the office, her passions include cooking and traveling in the U.S. and abroad.

Davis says, “I am a lifetime learner and avid reader—non-fiction and fluffy fun. My favorite days probably involve a good book, dog snuggles, and a great meal.”
