Albert Shapiro, formerly of distributor Marketing Incentives, passed away on May 20 in Delray Beach, Florida. He was 81.

Shapiro led a varied career in the promotional products industry. He was a founding partner in Boston-based distributor Marketing Incentives. Starting with the company at its inception in 1967, he spent almost 30 years with the firm. From there he went to Gloucester, Massachusetts-based distributor Cyrk, Inc. in 1997 before joining green-energy provider Viridian Energy as a consultant in 2012.

He is survived by his wife Sandy; son Jay and his wife Abby; daughter Terri Queler and her husband Sidney; grandchildren Robby, Andrew, Allie, Hailey, and Jack; and brother Paul.

Memorial services for Shapiro were held on May 22 at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Del Ray Beach. Those wishing to honor him with a memorial contribution are asked to consider Jeff's Place Children’s Bereavement Center at www.jeffsplace.org.
