PPW Expo is back!

After a successful inaugural edition of the virtual event last fall, PPAI aims to continue that momentum by continuing to help show the world that “Promotional Products Work.”

The spring PPW Expo will be held March 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Central Time. The virtual event will once again include product pavilions and educational sessions, but will introduce an “Idea Center,” as well as a few other surprises.

Overall, PPW Expo drew positive reviews from distributors in the fall. But one distributor, Quality Resource Group (PPAI 159353, D10), recently discussed with PPAI Media that, while a quality trade show was to be expected from the Association, it was the education that went above and beyond.

This Distributor Brought PPW Expo’s Education Into Its Own Operations

Emily Dunnigan, a national account executive at Quality Resource Group, was impressed that last fall’s PPW Expo gave her clients the opportunity to virtually learn about the products that the promo industry has to offer.

“PPW Expo provides a great online avenue to educate your clients and yourself on the latest trends, products and hot topics,” Dunnigan says. “The site is user-friendly and allows you to visit and explore in the way that works for you and in the time that works for you.”

But that should be expected from the Association that puts on The PPAI Expo every single year. It was the education sessions that drew Dunnigan’s surprise.

  • PPW Expo included sessions produced on-site at PPAI headquarters delving into industry trends such as sustainability, packaging, retail brands and more.

It would be easy to come into PPW Expo for all its buyer opportunities, but Dunnigan says she would “highly recommend” attending the educational sessions for their industry-wide perspectives on issues that affect most distributors.

“I went to the PPW Expo expecting the tradeshow element but was truly wowed by the informative videos,” Dunnigan says.

In fact, Dunnigan left the virtual event and went to her own internal team at Quality Resource Group.

  • Dunnigan “immediately provided feedback to our marketing team” after attending a few educational sessions.
  • She suggested connecting with PPAI about incorporating some of the universally applicable content into Quality Resource Group’s social media campaigns.
  • She also brought up the possibility of incorporating these videos into the company’s training efforts.

“It is important to us to provide education for buyers that is both relevant and inspiring,” says Lindsey Davis, PPAI’s director of business development, who manages PPW Expo. “The goal is to educate and elevate at the same time.”
