Holiday classics Home Alone and The Nightmare Before Christmas – a merchandising juggernaut – have been enshrined in the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress after turning 30 this year, but their younger sibling Elf – celebrating its 20th anniversary – is the one making a big splash in the merch market.

Elf-themed décor and other wares have been available since the film debuted in 2003, but for its big anniversary, Warner Bros. launched an expanded selection of Buddy-branded goods. These include partnerships with big-name brands like Brach’s candies, Funko figurines, Hallmark – and, of course, the Keebler elves and Etch A Sketch.

Here’s a heaping helping of the best new Elf merch:

The official WB Shop Elf collection includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, ornaments, wrapping paper, mugs, stickers, his & hers elf costumes and more, like this movie-specific piece:

This 3-inch Christmas Spirit “Clausometer,” inspired by the one on Santa’s sleigh in the movie, lights up as it detects holiday cheer (via a Buddy magnet).

In partnership with Warner Bros., Hallmark offers a variety of Buddy-branded greeting cards, as well as eight new Elf ornaments this year. This Buddy the Elf Singing Ornament doesn’t include sound, but his expression embodies the elf motto: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

Candy is No. 1 on the list of elf food groups, and Warner Bros. teamed up with Brach’s – America’s No. 1 Candy Cane brand in 2022 – for a trio of sweet treats celebrating Elf, including candy canes with movie-inspired flavors, Swirly Twirly Gum Drops and Candy Cane Forest Mellowcremes shaped like Mr. Narwhal, Leon the Snowman and other characters.

Serve up those sweets and much more with the Pottery Barn x Elf collection, featuring more than two dozen pieces from tableware to home décor, bedding and more.

No, they don’t feature pointed toes like Buddy’s shoes, but the special-edition green-and-yellow Elf Classic Clogs from Crocs do sport a fuzzy lining and collar, an Elf tag inside the heel and Elf-themed Jibbitz charms – including a wee pointy hat.

Target also offers an officially licensed Elf collection that includes an assortment of tees and sweatshirts, wrapping paper, glassware, an advent calendar with socks, a pocket-sized Etch A Sketch – and even a life-sized (well, almost) inflatable Buddy the Elf. (A smaller “Car Buddy” version, just under 3 feet, sold out from Walmart earlier in the year but was quickly restocked.)

Anniversary festivities for the film, including a return to the big screen in theaters in the U.S. and U.K., kicked off in November with a special lighting of the Empire State Building to match Buddy’s green-and-yellow elf uniform, plus movie-themed refreshments and window displays showcasing Buddy’s adventures (and select merchandise).
