Banyan Technologies Group, parent company of Plymouth, Michigan-based Helm (PPAI 105580, D11), has announced the completed acquisition of Baltimore-based Target Marketing Group (PPAI 108998, D5).

Both companies will continue to use their existing brands and retain all their existing locations, capabilities and employees, according to Tanvir Arfi, founder and CEO of Banyan.

“We’re very excited about TMG, especially its people and culture and are honored that John [Leahy, founder and CEO of TMG] chose Banyan to drive the next phase of its growth journey,” Arfi says. “We look for quality assets with competent management teams in attractive end markets with no prior institutional capital, and TMG checked all of these boxes.”

A New Era

Rob Ross, chief operating officer at TMG, has been promoted to president and COO of the combined business.

“I’m really excited to bring industry differentiating capabilities, including multilingual sales/customer service team coverage in all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico and APAC; fulfillment/distribution capabilities from multiple locations with global coverage; and the latest ERP/WMS/CRM/e-commerce software solutions to our clients,” Ross says.

“Our in-house operational capabilities now include printing, binding, publishing, design, decoration (embroidery and screen printing), digital marketing and a dedicated AI-powered analytics/business intelligence team.”

Leahy, who founded TMG, has also joined the new business in a C-suite capacity where he will continue to drive sales, advise the Banyan board and mentor Ross.

“What sets Target Marketing Group apart from the competition is our people and our absolute commitment to client satisfaction,” Leahy says. “We have established a culture that rewards relentless pursuit of performance excellence and customer service, which is evident from our average employee tenure and client tenure of more than 15 years.”
