Cintas (PPAI 303547, D12) has released its Impact Report for the 2023 Fiscal Year.

  • The report, which tracks the progress of the Cincinnati-based distributor’s philanthropic efforts, is the first of its kind for the company.
  • Cintas placed No. 23 on the inaugural PPAI 100 list in June.

The report is an important step in Cintas’ ability to monitor and celebrate the impact of the company’s outreach while also informing future efforts with data-driven decisions.

The full Impact Report can be read here.

The Report

The Impact Report provides data and progress made through 2023 by Cintas Cares, which operates under the Cintas umbrellas to engage in local communities and charitable causes.

“The Impact Report, in tandem with our ESG philosophies, shows how seriously and passionately we take our role as good citizens and our commitment to ‘A Shared Drive for Better’ for our employee-partners, customers and stakeholders,” says Todd Schneider, CEO and president of Cintas. “That passion allows Cintas to ensure sustainable engagement and improve the world around us.”

Below are a few key statistics that can be found in the Cintas Impact Report:

  • $4 million raised for the Cintas Partner Assistance Fund.

    • In 2019, Cintas decided that when natural disasters strike, affecting the communities of its employee partners, the distributor wanted to be prepared to provide immediate relief. It started with $500,000 of seed money from Cintas and has grown to $4 million through donations and investments. That money is available to provide immediate aid or long-term recovery assistance from natural disasters.

  • $1 million of donations to the American Cancer Society through grassroots donations.

    • Cintas formed a corporate philanthropic partnership with the ACS in 2020. Since then, grassroots events and individual donations have provided $1 million to go toward programs like the Road to Recover, which provides transportation to cancer treatments for those who need it.

  • 6,415,200 steps climbed by Cintas participants as part of the NFFF’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb events.

    • This has resulted in over $200,000 donated toward the Fire Department of New York. “The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation has been honored to work with Cintas Fire Protection over the last two years,” says Chief Ron Siarnicki, the executive director of the First Responder Center for Excellence.

  • 1.7 million people helped in the 2023 fiscal year through Cintas’ partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries.

    • Over the course of Cintas’ 20 years of partnership with Matthew 25: Ministries, this number balloons to more than 15 million people helped. This often comes in the form of product donations and clothing for children in immediate need of resources.

  • One million people certified through American Heart Association’s CPR and first-aid programs.

    • These certifications provide life-saving training.

By and large, reports such as these are valuable tools for partners, customers, potential employees and the general public to get a specific window into the values that a company prioritizes and the ways in which it is making a difference in those areas.

It also becomes a living record of progress, and the data examined year over year can provide a roadmap for growth in philanthropic efforts. More than just a celebration of good intentions, it can become a resource for where impacts are felt and what initiatives are most effective in providing significant aid to those who need it.
