Q: Over the past year, what extra actions have you taken to strengthen your company’s culture and keep employees engaged, motivated and happy at work?

“Staying together while we were apart took effort. We have a Spirit Team and a Wellness Team who took on this challenge. Simple touches like personal mailings and physical challenges where  we all walked virtually from London to Maine and then back, as part of weekly virtual team meetings, were all part of the mix. 

“We sent weekly videos to everyone in Geiger Worldwide, including to our colleagues who were on furlough in the summer and fall of 2020. Some videos were inspirational, others included a monthly business update for complete transparency. Especially well received was a six-week series called ‘Inquiring Minds Want to Know,’ where I and other Geiger associates answered some of employees’ toughest questions.

“Anniversary virtual calls, departmental calls and holiday celebrations were held with ice breakers and lively participation. It wasn’t easy, and we all grew in many ways closer together during our time apart.”
